Foreign Relations...

I always hear about how Geroge W. Bush made the world hate us.
I say "who cares?" We should't apologize for being a superpower in the world. People are so concerned with what the world thinks about us...All I have to say about this is that people are idiots. We do have allies in the world, and they have our backs...Thats why we call them "allies."
But to try and get enemies to like us is a lost cause when you do it the wrong way...and we are seeing the effects of that as we speak.

When weak minded individuals from the U.S deal with the world, we end up looking like little sissies at the end of the process. Sure some of them start to like us, as we saw today. President Obama, at a town hall meeting in France, said that America doesnt torture, thats why he ordered the closing of Guantanamo. I also saw the people at the townhall meeting cheer and clap at those remarks by the president.
So yeah, the French people and the others who opposed Guantanamo like us a little bit more.
But now we have terrorists who wil be let loose into the world, where they can continue their lifestyles of hate towards America...but thats enough of Guantanamo, you already know how I feel about that.

Obama sent a video message to the people and leaders of Iran a couple weeks ago. He said he wants to work together because we have the same interests. Here is the transcript...
FACT CHECK:http://blog.beliefnet.com/cityofbrass/2009/03/transcript-obamas-nowruz-messa.html

Working toether with Iran is NOT possible guys. And playing buddy buddy with them will NOT change what they want to do with their nuclear weapons. Their president Ahmedinejad wants to bomb Israel off the face of the Earth. Thats what they want to do. Playing nice with him wont change that, giving him money wont change that, giving him all the hot women in the world wont change that. WE DO NOT SHARE THE SAME INTERESTS WITH IRAN, unles you think Isral should be wiped off the face of the Earth...

Obama is weak, ignorant, and foolish when it comes to foreign policy. He has this idea that the world needs to fall in love with us. As a superpower, it doesnt work that way guys. Sometimes we have to be the bad guy to keep the peace. This is something that people arent willing to accept, and I just dont understand it. Just because Obama sends a nice message to Iran doesnt mean they are going to love us. It means that we are showing weakness by appeasing other leaders, who arent the most stable individuals on the planet.

Remember the last time the world appeased a tyrant who wanted to kill an entire race? Hitler!

Obama trying to achieve this just shows that he has no idea how things work. I know he promised change, but this is just foolish. Atleast George Bush kept everyone safe, even if the world wasnt too fond of us after. Its kind of like life guys, not everyone is gonna love you, but you have to keep on doing what you think is best.

Now I'm not completely condoning the Iraq war, but I'll leave that as a teaser for my next blog...

To also prove my point that the huggy kissy relationship with the rest of the world doesnt work, all I have to do is direct you to the biggest story in the news today...
We all know of North Koreas missile that will be launched any second(if it hasnt already based on when you read this) But for you ignorant people that I love so much, here is a link to the story...
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090404/ap_on_re_as/as_nkorea_missile

Now, going back to the point before, this North Korean missile is a perfect example that playing nice doesnt work...
North Korea has nuclear capability and long range capability. How did Korea get such weapons? You can thank Bill Clinton for that one. Yes, Bill Clinton, who some people think is the best president ever(which I will also adress in a later blog)

Clinton was just like Obama. He thought playing tea party with the world would make us all friends. He thought selling North Korea weapon technology was going to be a kind gesture. Clinton basically said that he wants our countries to be friends, so I'll give you this technology, but only a small amount of it. Now look what happens, Korea built on this new technology, and now has nuclear capability, which they have refused to give up, no matter how much the U.N has told them to.

So now it is Obama's problem to deal with...and how has he responded so far? Well, take a guess based on his actions so far...WEAK!

He issued a "stern warning."
He basically said hey!dont do that!
Wow Mr. President, way to step up there.

So hopefully after reading this, people can understand what George Bush tried to accomplish during his presidency. He was actually looking for peace. He had the guts to protect America(which was his job) even though some countires didnt like it(and they werent gonna like us anyway) Even though I dont agree with plenty of the things that Bush did, atleast he was smart enough to step up...

And thats something that a mere "stern warning" will never do...

Something that has been getting under my skin

We all know California isn't doing too well these days. The approximate deficit is at $41 billion, and budget cuts are lurking in every corner.
The thing that has really ticked me off is that people are so blind as to whom to blame. All I hear ALL THE TIME is that it's all Arnold and the Repulicans' fault. Arnold and the Republicans ruined California, Arnold and the Republicans ruined education, Arnold and the Republicans ruined the economy.Once again, the citizens refuse to do their research...so I have to do it for them.

State legislators, NOT ARNOLD, are the ones who ultimately decide how much money is spent
by the state. They are the ones who have decided to spend California into oblivion. Guess what political party makes up the majority of the state Legislature.Democrats!
51 democrats
29 republicans
FACT CHECK:http://www.assembly.ca.gov/acs/acsframeset7text.htm
That is the breakdown of the state legislature...So in a way, California is RUN by Democrats.

Now I'm not saying that Arnold is completely innocent. He had the choice to veto every single piece of crap that the legisllators threw at him, but he didn't.So he does share the blame, but it's not all his fault.

The Democrat-filled state legislature shares alot of the blame. But do you hear people say that Democrats share the blame?Nope. Everyone just hates the Republicans so much that they are always blamed for everything.

So next time you decide to blame Republicans for all of California's problems, remember who REALLY runs this state. Then be fair in deciding who to blame.

I wrote this because it kills me to see my fellow Californians being so ignorant and narrow minded. I'm not asking you to roast your own political party, but I'm asking you to put your politics aside, do your research, and dont make ignorant statements that blame the other side.

Because truth be told, both parties are to blame.

You can't be serious...

JANUARY 8: Only government can provide the short-term boost necessary to lift us from a recession this deep and severe. Only government can break the cycle that are (sic -- is) crippling our economy. That's why we need to act boldly and act now, to reverse these cycles. That's why we need to restart the flow of credit and restore the rules of the road that will ensure a crisis like this never happens again.
-Barack Obama

20 days...i repeat...20 DAYS later...

OBAMA JANUARY 28: In the end, the answer to our economic troubles rests less in my hands or in the hands of our legislators than it does with America's workers and the businesses that employ them. They are the ones whose efforts and ideas will determine our economic destiny just as they always have, for in the end it's businesses -- large and small -- that generate the jobs, provide the salaries, and serve as the foundation on which the American people's lives and dreams depend.
-Barack Obama
Fact check:http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=6751514(Listen with 50 seconds left)

Ok guys, now this is scary. One day, Obama says that ONLY GOVERNMENT will end our economic troubles on January 8th...ONLY GOVERNMENT.

20 days later, guys. Thats not even three weeks later. He says that only the workers and businesses(not government) will end our financial crisis.

Confused? So am I! Well which one is it Barack?? This just proves that our president has no idea how to end this crisis. His great speaking skills covered up his inability. But now, you all have proof. Our president is as two faced as Harvey Dent(Batman Villain)

Those of you that say, "This is no big deal. Who cares which one it is." You guys are crazy. When you say that government is the answer, that means that government spending( Obama's stimulus package) will end the recession. When you say that its in the hands of the workers, that means government cuts taxes and gets the hell out of peoples way.

These are two completely different concepts people!YOU CANT HAVE BOTH. Those of you that say we can, more power to you. BUT, explain to me how you can spend 900 BILLION dollars AND cut taxes? Doesnt make sense does it? The 900 Billion dollar stim. package will raise the national deficit. How will they lower that deficit? RAISING TAXES! That means all of you will have to pay higher taxes, just so that you could get a stimulus check for a measly 1000 dollars or so. Might as well save that stimulus check for when they raise taxes. You will definitely need it.

Its not that hard to fix our economic problem guys. The answers to our problems...cut taxes for businesses AND corporations.

Nobody supports giving tax cuts to big companies...Why not? Those companies create jobs! They allow people to work for them, so that those people may make a living. Therefore, those employees SPEND MONEY. When people HAVE money to spend, THEY SPEND IT. Plus, its good for the future. People will continue to have disposable income if their companies have a tax cuts and more money to spend on employees.

People spending=A stimulated economy

Its not that difficult of a concept. Hopefully now you understand that cutting taxes is what stimulates the economy.Obama's 900 billion dollar stimulus package doesnt. Its just a band aid that we all will have to pay dearly for in years to come

Too early to tell what will happen in Guantanamo

Today President Obama signed the orders to shut down Guantanamo Bay within a year's time. I have mixed feelings about this. We all know that eventually Guantanamo had to be shut down. However, before you make that decision, you have to consider one thing...where do you send the detainees that are a high threat? Remember guys, these are TERRORISTS. You cant have them stand trial, find a loophole in the system, and have them thrown back into the streets...Thats how terrorist attacks happen. If you do your research, it was Bush's intention to shut down Guantanamo Bay one day. What stopped him from doing it was the uncertainty of where to send these prisoners...Its not an easy decision. I just hope that Barack doesnt underestimate the dfficult task of sending these guys elsewhere. I must say I think he is underestimating it. However, I agree with some things that he did here.

Before I get into that though, I want to talk to the people that think the treatment is too harsh at Guantanamo...You guys seem to forget that these guys were caught by secret CIA hideouts from around the world. They were caught because they were terorists, some on a larger scale than others. Anyways, these TERRORISTS have been trained to hate America. Its not really in their Koran, however, the extremists will say that it is. These guys were trained NOT to give out information to the Americans. So what do you do in that situation? Extreme interrogation! You almost have to torture these guys to get them to talk so that we can keep our country safe by using the intelligence they have given us. Its a major part of what has kept us from being hit by terrorists since 9/11. Dont tell me that its immoral. These guys killing Americans is immoral...They deserve every bit of punishment that they get.

Now back to Obama's decision here. I still think hes taking the evacuation of these detainees too lightly. But I have to admit that I feel bad for our president. I dont think he really wanted Guantanamo to be shut down. He just had to make good with his liberal counterparts, who have wanted this for years. But in the end, it's Obama's decision. Whatever happens with Guantanamo will be on Barack Obama's hands...its his signature of the peice of legislation.

In Obama's defense though, I really like the move that he made to put a silver lining in this cloud. Part of the order that he signed today says that interrogation will ONLY BE ACCORDING TO THE ARMY MANUAL. The army manual techniques simply will not work to get these terrosrists to talk. However, Obama's admin. is working on changing the interrogation techniques in the manual, so that they will be tougher and more effective. I have to say that I agree with Obama's decision to make these loopholes.

However, you can say that interrogation will change in Guantanamo all you want, but it wont really matter if Guantanamo shuts down...Overall, I think this decision was too quick and could earn us another terrorist attack if not executed properly. We made the mistake of taking these guys too lightly before 9/11...lets not make that same mistake again.

Something to keep in mind for the next 4 years...

On January 20th, we inaugurated Barack Obama into the White House as the first black president. Wow! The first black president! Thats great and all, but i got over that around novemberish, when he was elected. Yes, I'm proud to have a black presdient. Its proof that race and color means nothing anymore...or does it? Its kind of weird when you say that skin color means nothing, but then you spend 160 million dollars on an inauguration, just because our president is black. Sounds like a double standard to me. The fact of the matter is, race is what you make of it. I personally believe that race and skin color means NOTHING. Therefore, I dont care if Obama is black, brown, orange, yelow or polka dot. I dont make a big deal of it. When it comes to my president, I care about policies. Now i dont agree with alot of Barack's policies, but I can agree with some...but thats a story for a different blog.

I read an article in the Wall Street Journal. It was written by Juan Williams. Warning! He is a Fox News contributor, and I know alot of closed minded people will stop reading from this point forward. However, HE IS AFRICAN AMERICAN. And nowadays it seems that people will give him a little bit more credibility than if he were white writing this. Anyways, he said something pretty enlightening that we should all keep in mind during the Obama presidency.

" If his presidency is to represent the full power of the idea that black Americans are just like everyone else- fully human and fully capable of intellect, courage, and patriotism- then Barack Obama has to be subject to the same rough and tumble of political criticism experienced by other presidents. To treat the first black president as if he were a fragile flower is certain to hobble him. It is also to waste a tremendous opportunity for improving race relations by doing away with stereotypes and seeing the potential in al Americans."

Williams is saying that we can't put Obama on this pedestal that allows him to do no wrong. You cant worship Obama. He is not a God or a savior. When you begin to ignore his shortcomings and fail to criticize him when needed, just because he is our first black president, you are being racist. I feel that this was the problem during the election. The media built him up to be this guy that could do no wrong. Then gullible people who were too lazy to do research just voted for him. But again... thats a topic for a different blog.

Rivera went on to write " It also leads to treating all criticism of Mr. Obama, whether legitimate, wrong headed, or even mean spirited, as racist. This is patronizing. WORSE, IT CARRIES AN IMPLICIT PRESUMPTION OF INFERIORITY."

Williams is absolutely right here. By saying that any criticism of Barack Obama is RACIST, you automatically admit his inferiority. You are saying that somebody pointed out his shortcoming, just because he is black. People dont understand that pulling the "race card" is a racist move in itself. Its like admitting that you are lower than somebody because of something minor like skin color, and then using that against them. It reperesents the double standard of alot of people's actions

So for the next 4 years, lets give the president his credit when credit is due. But dont be afraid to voice your opinion when you dont like what he does. If you dont believe that color should dictate how a person is percieved, then open your eyes and do your research on the ISSUES AND POLICIES.

One last note...Dont worship Obama, dont strive to be better for Obama, dont ask for free handouts from Obama. Last time an entire nation worshiped one man...ADOLF HITLER. I know you all know how disgusting that was. YOU control your destiny, NOT Barack Obama. Just work hard and earn yourself a great life...dont ask Barack Obama to give it to you.
